               Two Sketches in a Day

Nick Snow has gathered some of the TSS crew to shoot a Game of Thrones parody, which will go one to get a press release from HuffPost, Daily News and Funny or Die. Afterward Grant improvised a sketch in an hour, which will be released in a few weeks time.

               Music Video Shoot and More

The Shorts Show was hired to produce a music video for an up and coming singer currently under Timbaland's wing in London. We have travelled up to the show's lake house for production, and in our spare time, we shot an extra sketch on the fly behind the scenes while others were shooting.

               Music Video Shoot

Treo Pictures collaborates with The Shorts Show in an experimental music video shoot for Too Many Zooz. The shoot will take place all over Brooklyn over the span of two nights. The director expects the video to be highly controversial.

               Complex Media

Complex Media, located on Avenue of Americas at Rockefeller Center, brings Grant to their conference room to discuss his involvement in a new online show produced by them. The meeting went really well and they are moving forward to the writing phase of the series next week.

               Second Shoot with Abi Varghese

Abi, the director of Return Address, a short film Grant was in years ago that went on to Cannes, has invited Grant to be a day player in his new series Brown Nation, shooting in north New Jersey today.

               Lake House Shoot

The Show is traveling up to the Lake House to bring back a sequel of one of our oldest and most favorite sketches, Renegade Justice. Grant will be a supporting role as policeman Garcia, who brings Jack McClusky back into service.

               Korea Loves Grant!

Grant Lancaster was invited to be a guest speaker at a Korean Internship Program in New York to talk about how students can apply acting techniques to public speaking. He was very well received and invited back to teach another class next month!

              First Live Show at the PIT!

The Shorts Show has their first solo LIVE show at the Peoples Improv Theater in New York. Grant stars in 4 of the sketches we performed in front of a sold out PACKED audience. Afterwards Grant was approached by Complex Media and offered to be a lead writer/actor in an original series they are launching.

Grant books a national MTV commercial which shoots tomorrow! This is his second booking in a row!

               A Big Day for Grant

Today, Grant had the privilege of being invited to his alma matter, Adelphi University, to be a guest speaker for his mentor and friend Nick Petron's class, Profession and the Working Actor. Here, Grant talked with the graduating class of 2014 about what to expect beyond school, how to audition for film and TV, and general marketing techniques as they launch their careers for the first time.

               National Commercial for Google!

Grant books a national commercial for Google shooting in New York City today. The producers and clients of the commercial personally invited Grant out for dinner and drinks afterwards, and even sent his agent a letter saying thank you for his work! Something that rarely happens.

               Table Read

Nate Crooker and Grant Lancaster have teamed up for the first time to produce and direct The Shorts Show's second film to date titled, "Like A Hurricane". The film will star many of the show's actors, and Corey Rutledge and Grant Lancaster are set to star. This is the first time the entire cast has got together to review and develop the script. Slated to shoot in April.

               Grant's New York Directorial Debut

Grant has been invited to direct a play at New York Film Academy of his choosing as a pedogigical experience for students to branch out onto stage. The production was put up at an Off Broadway theater near Colombus Circle and received very good reviews.

               Medal of Honor Rag

Only with the hopes of honing his craft, Grant Lancaster produces, acts, and co-directs in the 30 minute short film Medal of Honor Rag, adapted from an original play by Tom Cole in the 80's. The film follows a young solider with PTSD, who meets with a new psychiatrist who specializes in this newly developing mental disease.

               People Improv Theatre

Grant Lancaster helps produce The Shorts Shows first live improv show at The Peoples Improv theater, a show that was sold out and recieved rave reviews!

                Bad Pizza

Director Sarah Bailin has cast Grant as the lead in her new short film, "Bad Pizza", set to shoot in New Jersey in a couple weeks. This will be the first time Grant has worked with this team, but not the last.

                One on One NYC

Grant is accepted into One on One NYC, based on an audition of two contrasting monologues.

                Exit Zero Staged Reading

Boomerang Theatre Company has cast Grant as the lead in their latest staged reading of Exit Zero, by Shelley McPhearson. After the show Grant was approached by several people about potentially collaborating on their next project, including a new broadway play set to be produced next Fall.

                Teen Wolf of Wall Street

Grant acts, and helps shoot a new sketch for his crew The Shorts Show, "Teen Wolf of Wall Street", which goes on to be one of the biggest viral sketches for us to date, getting over 3 million views in just a few weeks on Funny or Die.

                No Time to Waste

Soon as he is back from the holidays, he meets with writer/director Andrew Pitkin to discuss the creation of his new animated feature film Hopper, which is set to pitch to major studios soon.

                Night Hearts

Grant Lancaster is invited to a reading of close friend and long time collaborator Nick Snow's new feature film Night Hearts, slated to shoot in Chicago next year. Grant will have a small role in this film, and will help with production on set.

                Brushing Off The Dust

Open Mic night in Brooklyn, Grant performs some spoken word and brushes off several months worth of dust. Afterwards Grant was approached by a publisher to talk about including some of his work.

                Lunch with Yuri Alves For New Feature

Grant had a productive lunch with award winning LA-based director/writer Yuri Alves to discuss a new feature film they are creating together starring Grant Lancaster.

                New Sketch with The Shorts Show

Back in time to collaborate on the latest sketch from The Shorts Show, set to premiere on Funny Or Die next week. The sketch is called Let's Get Famous and is a parody of networking parties for industry people.

                Philly Bound for New Independent Feature

Grant is off to Philadelphia to shoot internationally acclaimed director Joseph Grahams new feature film, "Beautiful Something". Joe has been hoping to cast Grant in a film of his for 6 years now, and both are delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with one another.

                National Nespresso Commercial Callback

Grant Lancaster is on first refusal for a Nespresso commercial slated to shoot in London with Penelope Cruz!

                Going back to California to shoot!

Indie director Ben Gilbert has cast Grant in his new Sci-Fi Thriller, Seer, and is flying him out to shoot in Los Angeles for the next week. See ya soon New York!

                National Commercial for MTV!!

A couple weeks ago Grant booked a new MTV promo for Lady Gaga’s performance at the VMAs, only one month after signing with Innovative Artists for commercial and voice over.

                Books feature film in Los Angeles

Grant has booked the feature film “Reborn” shooting in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh this summer, starring opposite James Kyson from “Heroes”. That is two movies in LA in one month!

                Grant books national commercial for MTV

Keep an eye out for Grant in a national promotion for the VMAs on MTV for Lady Gaga. This is the first commercial booked through his agency Innovative Artists, after only a month of being official with them.

                Challenging New Short Film 

After a recommendation through a series of past colleagues, writer/director Ben Gilbert casts Grant in his challenging new psychological thriller SEER, shooting in Los Angeles this Fall.

                Callback For National Campbell’s Soup Commercial 

After a third callback, he was was put on first refusal for a national Campbell’s soup commercial. You can’t win them all! Yet nonetheless it was a nice reminder to keep persevering!!

                A Man Of Many Hats 

Directly upon returning to New York City, Grant works on set as a key grip and gaffer of Nick Snows new short film “LOGIC”. A segment of the collaborative feature film “Prism, coming out next year.

                Off To A Good Start!

Since moving back in New York only a week ago, Grant has been on 5 auditions and been called back for every single one of them, including an offer being made right in the audition room. James Calleri, head of Calleri Casting NYC, has also called him in to audition for Michael Urie’s understudy in his award winning one man show Off Broadway called Buyer & Cellar. Keep it going!

                Grant invited to write & direct new Anthology Feature

Dashford Media has invited Grant to write and direct a segment of their new Anthology Feature Film as a part of their latest film festival project. The feature consists of 7 filmmakers each with their own segment surrounding the overall theme of ‘The Irrationality of Love’. Grant’s segment is set to shoot this August.

                Sony Pictures Television calls Grant in for interview

Today Grant met with Dawn Steinberg, Executive Vice President of Casting at Sony Pictures Television, as well as Delia Frankel, at their office on the Sony Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles.

                Meeting with Executives at CBS

Another meeting with the casting executives at CBS was a success! Matt Skrobalak, Erin Weintraub, and Kristin Thomas have all told Grant to keep in touch!

                Grant Meets with ABC!

John Villacorta, Executive Director of Casting and Austin Sayles, Director of Casting, at ABC have invited Grant to meet with them after seeing his performances in UC Irvine’s bicoastal MFA showcase.

                ‘Hollow’ premieres at TriBeCa Film Festival

A short film Grant was in last summer, which was produced to be a part of PBS’s ‘Futurestates’ series, is premiering today at TriBeCa Film Festival in New York City.

                Showcase Approaches!

UC Irvine’s MFA Showcase is widely regarded as one of the best in the industry. Gearing up to fly out to NYC and LA for a total of 9 shows before agents, managers, casting directors, and other industry heads. Very excited and grateful for this incredible opportunity!!                 After Troy Opens

World renowned director Mihai Maniutiu, has returned to UC Irvine to direct his second production on campus After Troy, an adaptation of Euripides greek tragedy Hecuba, set in war torn Bosnia. Mihai described Grant’s performance as “remarkable”, telling him that after this show, he believes he is “truly one of the great actors of the future.”

                Wilt Screens in NYC

After a long road, WILT, is finally near its end. Picture lock official, sound mixing finished, and color correction on the way, we screened our film at a theatre in NYC for roughly 100 people, receiving some great feedback and even better reviews. There are a few rumors of possible distribution possibilities coming our way from this!

                Boiling Pot Feature Film

Grant has had the pleasure of collaborating with new filmmaker Omar Ashamawey in his new movie Boiling Pot, starring Danielle Fishel, Keith David, Emmet Walsh, and Lou Gossett Jr.

                The Dwarf

Returning to his favorite kind of performance, one of multiple characters, Grant does his first show of the year in Annie Loui’s original production The Dwarf, an adaptation of Par Lagerkvist’s novel. This incredibly demanding piece of physical theater was created in 3 weeks for 3 shows, each receiving a standing ovation.

                 Directing, Acting, Producing his own play

This week is the opening of Refuge, by Jessica Goldberg, a short play directed by, and starring Grant Lancaster, alongside 3 ridiculously talented classmates, Siobhan Doherty, Jacob Dresch, and Hayley Palmer. Produced in the Yurt, this show was created and performed in the short span of 3 weeks.

                Orlando Opens

Grant comes back to the stage in Sarah Ruhl’s Orlando as Marmaduke Bonthrop Shelmerdine Equire, a physical theater piece directed and created by Annie Loui.

                Experimental Scene with Marcus Liberski

Long time friend and director Marcus Liberski has cast Grant yet again in a project of his. Marcus is an MFA student at the famed USC School of Film. The project is a collaboration  inspired by a conversation between Grant and Marcus, exploring through scenework the relationship between personal and public, fiction and reality, character and actor.

                Hellequin Teaser Scene

Teamed up with long time friend and collaborator Nick Snow, Grant will be filming a scene from feature film Hellequin, in a role that was created and developed for him. The scene is intended for investors to hopefully shoot the full film later next year.

                Feature Film Lead Role

Grant will be starring in a feature film written & directed by close friend and Tribeca Film Festival awarded director Sebastian Sommer, in a role that was written for Grant. The film is intended for film festivals and possible distribution. Will keep ya’ll posted on this one!

Today we shot another Shorts Show sketch called Suck’d, a parody of Punk’d that makes fun of all the stupid MTV shows that are coming up now with dumb hosts and even dumber concepts.

                My First Television Role!

Today I shot my first role on television for a short film on PBS, directed by well known independent film director Lisa Robinson, who recently won official selection at SXSW.

               Off to a Good Start!

I have been in NYC for only two weeks and have already booked 4 gigs! A webseries role, a small role in a PBS show, and two short films! Yay!

            Grant Moves to NYC for the summer 

Yet again I make the journey back to the east coast to continue my efforts to remain bicoastal and not leave my beloved New York City behind as I attempt to dual wield both coasts. My plan is to audition as much as possible, as well as shoot a couple feature films and projects I’ve lined up while I’m out there.

             Stones In His Pockets

This week I’ll be doing a show called Stones In His Pockets by Marie Jones with the one and only  Sean Harrigan. Its a full length play with only two actors who play 15 different characters, switching back and forth between them all on stage. Super excited for this show come out and support!

The Shorts Show launches all new yummy content tomorrow during the Super Bowl Sunday kick off! The new stuff features content either directed, acted, or written by yours truly. Check it out!              We Have Our First Test Screening in Chicago.

Wilt premiered in front of a live audience (yes they were alive!) today for a selected invite only screening outside of Chicago, IL today. Updates on whether or not peopled stayed for the entire film to come soon.

             Wilt Goes to Sundance Film Festival.

Getting some free publicity on the Sundance Channel in Park City, Utah. Should be going public later this year. Many business cards and smiles were given out at this festival. Great Success!

Our film Bliss is now part of official selection at New York International Film and Video Festival! Bliss has been accepted as an official selection of the 2011 Big Apple Film Festival in New York City. It will be screening at Tribeca Theaters in the city during the month of November.

            Geronimo begins principle photography

            Bliss gets into 2011 Tacoma Film Festival

The short film Bliss, written & directed by Nick Snow, starring Grant Lancaster was accepted into the Tacoma Film Festival today. It will be screened along side a few select independent films in October at the Grand Theatre.

            Grant to Star in Sebastian Sommer’s New Film

On July 4th weekend, Grant is set to start principle photography for Tribeca Film Festival award-winning director Sebastian Sommer’s new short film, adapted from a story by the American novelist Tao Lin. Expected for 2012 festival exposure.

            Casting Begins

On Monday, Grant will begin casting his feature length screenplay “Geronimo” in New York, which is set to go into production August of 2011 in association with Dashford Media and FrontHouse Films. Grant will be pulling a Tom Hanks for the first time as he both directs and stars in this romantic drama set for festival exposure next year.

This weekend marks the official start of Season 2 of the Short Show with the first round of shooting in NJ. Grant will be directing a sketch as well as serving as an actor in residence with the show. Season expected to premiere Fall of 2010

Grant is cast in a short film in New York, where he plays a religious young man who witnesses his mother finally coming out of a coma after 10 years.

            New York City Premiere of Bliss

June 6th, come 7pm at the Anthology Film Archives in the east village, Bliss will make its world premiere before it begins its promising film festival circuit this fall. Come out and support this wonderful film with all of us!

Grant Lancaster is a year older than he was last year, and two years older than the year before that. However! He is definitely still 30 years younger than he will be 30 years from now. And that. Makes all the difference.

            Back in Business!

Grant Lancaster moves back to the great city of New York for another summer of work. Taking on a second season of the Shorts Show as a sketch writer, actor and director. As well directing and acting in a feature film he wrote starting in 2010 called, Geronimo.

Our short film “Bliss”, written and directed by Nick Snow has its new trailer out, and will be hitting the film festival circuit this year. 

 

The film follows Dave, (me), as he struggles to continue his drug rehabilitation in the wake of his brothers sudden and random death. Check out the trailer on my Clips page!

            NEW TRAILER RELEASED!

 

Title pretty much says it all, the brand new trailer to my film “The All-Nighters” is out and ready to be viewed. This comedy follows the new PR, Greg Oiler’s first overnight shift at his new job in New York City.             Kasumi gets accepted to Boston Int’l Film Festival

 

 

Kasumi will be playing in the Boston International Film Festival 

on Friday April 22nd at the Loews/ AMC Boston Commons theater 

in downtown Boston!

Kasumi, directed by Robert Meyer, tells the story of the emotional struggle of Denny, played by Grant Lancaster, as he is forced to come to terms with the recent death of his girlfriend, Lisa. After Denny decides to visit Lisa's room he finds the place to be a surreal portal to the memories the two of them shared there. When the real-life consequences of Denny's dependency on reliving these moments start to pull on him, he is forced to re-evaluate his emotions and make a serious attempt at letting go.

            Love Falls wins another award

 

Love falls takes home the Sierra Nevada Award at the 2011 Mountain Film Festival. The award ceremony took place in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, Ca.

 

LOVE FALLS is a romantic drama about leaving everything for love and whether or not it will pay off to believe so. 

A Marco Velez original script based on a story by Marco Velez & Sandra Peso, starring Grant Lancaster and Limor Hakim
